The One-Twelve Restaurant & Lounge
The 112 Restaurant and Lounge has been
serving up classic elegance with a side of
winter adventure for 35 years, catering to
Canadian Mountain Holidays, a well known
heli-ski operation for almost as long. But
as the winds of change sweep through this
small, mountain town, so do they through the
112.
Slick new hardwood floors, walls clad in
perfectly aged brickwork and charcoal grey
paint give the dining room and lounge a
modern, contemporary feel. A polished
granite bar, funky hand-carved furniture and
a floor to ceiling wine rack separating the
dining area from the bar make this the sort
of place that young locals linger late into
the evening savouring locally brewed Mount
Begbie beer and eating appetizers like
Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna with Wasabi Aioli or
Seared Scallops in Lime Caramel. For the
larger appetite after a hard day skiing, the
hefty handmade beef and blue cheese burger
might be just the thing.
Despite the dining rooms shiny new look,
old classics never die. Alongside creative,
new fare, the culinary team at the 112 are
still serving up the old favorites like
Dijon Crusted Rack of Lamb and Chicken
Cordon Bleu. And for the seafood lover, a
steaming bowl of Cioppino simmered gently in
a broth of tomato, fennel and saffron warms
the bones on a chilly, winter evening.
There is, perhaps, a local singer belting
out tunes from the small stage set up in the
corner, or maybe just quiet funky music
playing and a muted hockey game underway on
the flat screen TV above the bar. Outside,
huge snowflakes quietly drift down carpeting
the town in a soft, white blanket.
For a touch of elegance in the heart of
historic downtown Revelstoke, whether it be
for a three course meal or just some tasty
appetizers with a casual cocktail, the 112
Restaurant & Lounge
welcomes you. |
